As some of you know (via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram), I was recently asked to contribute regular posts to the official Waterstones blog alongside some of my favourite bloggers: Eric of Lonesome Reader, Simon of Savidge Reads, Naomi of The Writes Of Woman, Nina of Notes From The Chair, Gav of Gav Reads and Kate of Adventures With Words.
We were introduced with some fan fare a few weeks ago, and ever since I’ve received lots of lovely emails and comments from book publicists, other bloggers and friends who’ve seen me mention the news on social media. It’s not a paid position, so it’s not going to pay the mortgage, but it’s nice to be able to champion books to a different, possibly more diverse, audience, and to perhaps attract a few more devotees to my own blog.
My involvement as a “Waterstones Book Blogger” means that once a month I get to recommend a book, either old or new, that I’ve enjoyed and which is available to purchase via the Waterstones website.
My first contribution went up this morning. You can find out what I chose here. And then come back and read my review in full here.
Congratulations! Look forward to your posts.

how exciting to be part of this adventure Kim. Loved your description of your chosen book as being like Paul Auster on speed

Very pleased to see a blogger whose excellent taste lies a little out of the mainstream doing this, Kim. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Thanks, Susan. Yes, I don’t like to champion the same stuff as everyone else, so it’s a good chance to provide recs that are a little off the beaten path…
