A Year With William Trevor | #WilliamTrevor2023 |

William Trevor (1928-2016) was an Irish writer who left behind an amazing legacy — dozens of novels, novellas, short stories and plays — for us to enjoy.
In 2023, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of his birth, what better way to celebrate his work than by spending a year reading it?
That’s why I am joining forces with Cathy from 746 Books to spend “A Year with William Trevor“. Between the two of us, we think we can cover a good chunk of his writing over the course of 12 months — and we’d love you to join in!
We have come up with a proposed reading schedule and we’ll be posting our reviews in the first week of every month, between January and December 2023.

Feel free to follow our schedule as above, or read whatever William Trevor novels you have to hand. If you decide to join in, whether on your own blog or social media accounts, please tag us both and use the hashtag #WilliamTrevor2023.
I will try to log all reviews from multiple sources here every month, so please keep visiting this page for updates.

I saw this when you first posted it, but somehow didn’t catch on that it was for the whole year. (What, the title misled me?!😜) Now that I am fully aware, I will try to join in on some of your suggested titles. Reading for the International Booker Prize Shadow Jury always takes a chunk of my time, but now I am free to explore other blogging events, and this one interests me quite a bit.

Yes, a whole year… the clue is in the title 😆 Essentially it’s just one book a month and you don’t have to follow our agenda; you can read anything by Trevor that takes your fancy or can get your hands on. There’s certainly plenty to choose from! Be great to have you join in whatever way you can.

I know this doesn’t really qualify, but I just reviewed my first work by William Trevor – a short story of his. Here’s my review (together with three other Irish short stories). https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2023/05/14/shortstorysunday-tcls-homework/

That certainly qualifies! Our Year with William Trevor is not a challenge, per se, but a project to spread the word and share the love of Trevor’s work, so having you contribute in this way is great. Thank you 🙂
